There’s nothing quite like a clean, classic bodysuit to complement your high waist bottoms and make any outfit more streamlined (shop lots of bodysuit options here). Bodysuits are the perfect first layer for minimal bulk under jackets, blazers and cardigans, and they’re also great worn alone. I’ve tried a lot of brands over the years, so here’s why the following four are my favorite.
Wolford
After having one on my wish list for a long time, I finally bought my first Wolford bodysuit last month. The brand is pricey, but definitely worth the investment if you wear bodysuits often. The fabric is high-quality, incredibly smoothing and feels like a second skin. I also love the turtleneck on the one I’m wearing because it is very comfortable and folds over well.

Commando
Commando is famous for their shapewear and leggings with ‘naked construction’ (supposed to eliminate panty lines), and their bodysuits have the same smooth design. The mockneck bodysuit I’m wearing in the first photo is made of a pantyhose-type material but it’s totally opaque. The faux leather bodysuit in the second image is made of the same material as their famous faux leather leggings, which I absolutely adore (check out this blog post for my full review on them).

SKIMS
SKIMS is the newest bodysuit brand I tried after a collaboration I did on their shapewear. I used my store credit to purchase this mockneck bodysuit and it’s been a great addition to my wardrobe. The black (called ‘onyx’) is more of an off-black color and all of their bodysuits are also available in skin-tone shades from beige to brown. The material is super stretchy and smoothing (in other words, no worries about bra lines or ‘back fat’!)

Madewell
As far as budget-friendly bodysuits go, you can’t beat the price of Madewell—most are under $50. Their tee bodysuit is always on heavy rotation for me during warm-weather months and I own the turtleneck style in several colors.
