Happy Monday and I hope you all had a great weekend! It’s hard to believe the Fourth of July is already coming up next week and soon after that will be the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale! Eek! I’ve been all about patriotic outfits lately and don’t even ask me how many red, white and blue outfits I’ve purchased for Lila (my husband says I need to stop, ha). When we were on vacation in Virginia, my hometown had all of the American flags out for Flag Day, so I took advantage for shooting this patriotic look.
As much as I love wearing red, white and blue for all the patriotic holidays, I prefer to wear them in a way that isn’t too obvious and could also work for any other summer day. Since I have so many striped shirts, it just makes sense to use them as a starting point for most of my patriotic looks, so I wore one of my blue styles and added a red neck scarf. I finished off this outfit with denim and a white handbag and there you have it—All-American yet stylish.
Seriously, this little bandana has been one of the most-worn items so far this summer (and it’s under $15!) It’s such a chic little accessory to dress up any look and add a pop of color. But as much as I love wearing it as a neck scarf, I’ve actually worn it the most as a hair accessory. In case you missed my recent post with a step-by-step photo tutorial on how to wear a scarf as a headband, make sure to read it here!Wishing all of you a smooth start to the new week and as always, thank you so much for reading!
