How to Wear a Scarf as a Headband in 6 Easy Steps
What You’ll Need:
- texture spray/dry shampoo (this will add ‘grit’ to your hair which helps hold the style)
- hair ties
- bobby pins
Before getting started, spritz your hair with dry shampoo or texture spray. This texture spray is my new favorite and it’s under $7! Next, pull your hair into a bun; it does not have to be perfect—as you can tell, mine is certainly not!
Step 1
Start with the scarf folded in half in a triangle.
Step 2
Continue to fold the triangle until you’re left with the end (you can make the fold as thick or thin as you like).
Step 3
Tuck the small end portion underneath and flip the folded band over.
Step 4
Place the part where you folded the end of the scarf in the center behind your head, with the folded part facing in so it’s hidden.
Step 5
Take the two loose ends of the scarf and bring them up around your head, making sure they are even.
Step 6
Tie the ends together by wrapping one over the scarf and the other underneath. This gives the scarf a cool twisted look.
I like to add a few bobby pins to secure the scarf ends because I have fine hair, but it’s not absolutely necessary—just thought I’d add that!
There you have it—so easy and chic! I love this style for summer because it’s great for keeping cool. Hope you guys enjoyed this tutorial and let me know if you’d like to see more hair/beauty posts in the future!
