Happy Wednesday! Last weekend, my husband and I headed out in search of some Neapolitan pastries (okay, and maybe gelato as well), and stumbled on this narrow side street for photos. It made me think about how I’ve gotten so used to everything here being old, which is basically the complete opposite of most places in the states. And while I’ll be the first to admit that I love the ease and comfort that comes with new buildings, you just can’t beat the amount of character found on the streets of Italy.I’ve been living in these chambray shorts lately (and am literally wearing them as I type this) because the super soft material and drawstring waist are the best for the summer heat. These Converse sneakers have been my best friends for long walks spent exploring Naples. FYI: did you know Magic Erasers are also great for cleaning white kicks? I recently read that tip in a magazine and have been using them to keep my sneaks fresh ever since–they work especially well on Adidas Stan Smiths!
An easy way to rock a plaid shirt in the summer months is by opting for a bright or pastel pattern that’s made of light fabric (definitely NOT flannel!) J. Crew makes the best ones out of gauzy material, and I especially love the oversized fit of this boyfriend style. Also spotted on our walk: lots of makeshift clotheslines! Most Neapolitans do not dry their linens in machines, so you will see laundry hanging out on countless balconies–and sometimes even strung from lines connected between buildings!
