Happy Wednesday! It was a dreary one here in Rome and as much as I would have loved to throw on some yoga pants and curl up with a book all afternoon, I had a lot of things to check off my to-do list. It’s a super busy week because on Saturday we are heading home to the U.S. for a long vacation to visit family and friends. It’s hard to believe we moved here eight months ago, and although we’ve been enjoying life in Italy, as the saying goes, there really is no place like home. It’s also my birthday next week, so I am anxiously awaiting my favorite homemade vanilla cake with buttercream frosting (Mom, are you reading this?!)
I practically lived in my camel coat last week in Milan, and this time I belted it to fight the chill (see how I wore it open here). Adding a dash of red with my handbag elevated the otherwise neutral color palette.
A pair of distressed denim plays peekaboo for an edgy touch to this classic combination of camel, black and red.
You wouldn’t believe how many times it took me to learn the art of ‘chic’ belt-tying that was demonstrated for me in the Max Mara store when I bought this coat (and which I promptly forgot), but I have finally gotten it down pat. My husband is a patient teacher, ha!It’s about time to make some dinner! I may not have been able to lounge around with a book all day, but I am definitely going to indulge in some grilled cheese and tomato soup–the BEST rainy day comfort food!
