Much like a pair of white denim, a blazer in the same bright color always signals a fresh new season. I’m loving pale blue for spring in everything from clothing to handbags, and found the prettiest periwinkle silk camisole on super sale from J. Crew. Perfect for layering and beautiful worn alone, now I want the same top in every color. For a look that’s polished enough for a dinner date, but still weekend casual, I wore my favorite boyfriend jeans. If you’re looking for a style that’s more fitted, I highly recommend this pair, and the feminine silhouette makes it simple to dress up with a pair of stilettos.

A brooch adds a unique touch to any outfit, and after much searching, I finally found one last week at the Chanel boutique in Rome. Before we moved, I had been looking online at vintage styles, which were surprisingly much more expensive than purchasing new. Because of its versatility, a brooch is a great accessory: it can make a blazer even more sophisticated, add a touch of glam to denim jackets, serve as the finishing touch for dresses, hold a scarf in place….the possibilities are virtually endless, which is just what I want when it comes to my investment pieces.
