Thrown over tees, worn with shorts, or paired with jeans and boots, there’s no denying that a utility vest is one of the most versatile pieces you can have in your wardrobe. It’s definitely a great transitional piece to have for late summer/early fall and I find myself reaching for one when I start itching to add an extra layer to my outfit.Since I wear utility vests and jackets pretty often, I’m constantly trying to come up with different ways to style them so it doesn’t get boring. A few weeks ago on this post, I wore another one of mine over a jumpsuit. Since it’s still hot outside, this time I decided to wear my new vest as a top. It was a casual complement to my distressed denim, with some polish from a suede handbag and lace-up sandals.
Admittedly, I already own two other utility vests, but in my defense they all differ in color and fit! I couldn’t pass up this one from Nordstrom when I noticed it was on sale. It’s a little more rugged than my other vests and will be great with boots this fall. It sold out very quickly, but I linked a similar option below—and if you didn’t manage to snag this one during the Anniversary Sale, it’s been restocked! As I post this, I’m already thinking of what I can do next with my utility vests—do any of you have a favorite way to style them?
- Vest (Nordstrom–sold out; similar)
- Sunglasses (Chanel)
- Denim (Blank NYC–now on sale!)
- Sandals (Ann Taylor–no longer available; similar here and love the chunky heel on this pair)
- Bag (Saint Laurent; similar)
- Lip (Clinique ‘Broadest Berry’)
