LOFT cocoon sweater with distressed denim shorts, Stuart Weitzman Stoned lace-up sandals, how to layer in the summerBefore I get into today’s post, just a quick announcement—tomorrow is the opening day for ALL customers to shop the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale (yay!) If you aren’t a cardholder, not to worry: there are still plenty of amazing pieces to choose from, and some popular items will likely be restocked. It’s always a good idea to keep an eye on your favorites because sizes often become available again since there’s a high volume of returns and exchanges during the sale. If you missed my post last week where I listed the best finds and what I bought, check it out here. I just received my first few shipments this week, and so far I am keeping everything—this may be the best sale yet! My favorite finds so far: this cozy cashmere wrap, sleeveless sweater, and white sneakers (these RARELY  go on sale, so don’t miss out—sizes are going fast!) I am planning to post photos wearing what I purchased once everything has arrived (hopefully next week).Brixton 'Joanna' panama hat, cocoon sweater with shorts and lace-up sandals, how to layer with a sweater in summerWhile on our trip to Sicily last week, we decided to make a trip to see Mt. Etna, Europe’s most active volcano. Since it’s at such a high elevation, our friend told us to bring a sweater along, but we still weren’t nearly prepared (which I will explain later).LOFT cocoon cardigan, Brixton 'Joanna' panama hat, Brahmin vintage tan saddlebagLOFT cocoon cardigan with cutoff denim shorts and lace-up sandals, Stuart Weitzman 'Stoned' lace up embellished sandalsLOFT cocoon sweater with denim shorts, Brixton 'Joanna' hat, oversized cardigan with shorts summer outfitLOFT cocoon cardigan, Brahmin vintage leather saddlebag, Stuart Weitzman 'Stoned' lace-up sandalsCondorelli pasticceria Sicily, travel blogger ItalyOn the drive to Mt. Etna, we stopped to fuel up at a spot that our Sicilian friends told us was the absolute best for granita. As you can see, there were plenty of other tasty treats to choose from as well!Condorelli gelateria, best granita in Sicily, where to eat granita in Sicily, travel blogger ItalyI can’t say for sure if it’s the greatest in Sicily, but I will say the granita was so good that we ate here twice during our trip. Although my blend of peach and strawberry was good, pistachio was hands-down the best flavor and I could seriously eat it every day. Granita is traditionally eaten along with a brioche (sweet bun), which you can see my husband demonstrating in the background. They also eat it for breakfast around here, which I thought was weird until I tried it for myself—delicious!candied marzipan fruit, Sicily Italy, travel blogger, traditional Sicilian dessertsMt. Etna volcano hike in Sicily, travel blogger ItalyWhen we arrived at Mt. Etna, we had all the intentions of hiking at least part of the way around the volcano. You can see the tiny outlines of some brave souls who decided to make the trek, but this is why we were not one of them: the wind was INSANE and the temperature couldn’t have been over 50 degrees with the wind chill, which made it absolutely miserable. Most of the other tourists there were just as shocked as us, shivering in shorts and tee-shirts.hiking Mt. Etna in Sicily Italy, travel bloggerSince we did not dress appropriately, I was not one of those brave souls who made the hike, and lasted about five minutes before I booked it out of there—my husband snapped this photo as I was hustling back to the car, haha. If I ever find myself at Mt. Etna again someday, I’ll be definitely be much more prepared. I hope all of you have a great weekend and thanks so much for reading!
