Happy Thursday! I don’t know about you, but I am even more glad than usual that tomorrow is Friday. This week has been a bit of a whirlwind because I started a new job on Monday. Fortunately, since it is part-time, I should still be able to keep the same blogging schedule, but it will definitely take time to get in the groove of my new routine. I certainly applaud all you ladies out there who work full-time while simultaneously running a blog! I used to do the same when I was teaching, but looking back now, I honestly don’t know how I was able to keep up with all of it. Maybe it was due to the fact that my husband and I were apart while he was working overseas for most of that time, so teaching and blogging just kept me busy. If you are wondering how I was getting outfit photos while he was gone, I actually used to take them myself with a tripod—and needless to say, they were FAR from what they are now, ha!
Sometimes it can be hard to explain, but day-to-day life is certainly different living in Italy. For example, since we no longer have the luxury of our own garage or driveway for parking, I have to allow an extra ten minutes in my morning (or anytime, really) to walk a few blocks to pick up our car from the garage where it’s kept. On the other hand, my husband actually commutes to work like a true Italian on our Vespa! They may be small changes, but all add up to make a totally different ‘work week’ routine than we were used to back home in the States. That said, we’ve learned to adapt over the last year and four months we’ve been in Rome, and it’s gotten a lot easier over time. In less than eight months we’ll be moving on to another adventure, though, so that will be shaken up all over again (stay tuned!)I wore this laid-back look last weekend and it’s been one of my favorite summer outfits so far (even though technically it’s still spring!) Aside from how wrinkly it gets, I love linen fabric in the summer, and these shorts are so breezy and relaxed. Unfortunately they sold out quickly since they were on sale, but I did find a few similar pairs which are linked in my outfit details.I loved my other panama hat from Brixton so much that I bought the same style in brown—the fit is flattering since it comes in actual sizes, and has a wide brim that’s perfect for sunny days (for reference, I am wearing an XS).What are your plans for the weekend? One of my husband’s coworkers is leaving Rome in a few weeks, so we’ll be at his family’s going-away party on Saturday. Other than that, the rest of the time will probably be filled with blog photo shoots and a dinner date night (as per usual, a gelato run is also highly possible). Have a great weekend and thank you so much for reading!
