The owners of the B&B where we stayed in Praiano last weekend recommended that we stop in Ravello on our drive back to Rome, so we took the scenic (and near death-defying), windy road lining the coast and up the mountainside a few miles from Amalfi until we reached the medieval hillside town. It was definitely a picturesque spot to take a break for photos and sightseeing before we got back on the road.
Although I prefer spring weather to last as long as possible, I do love the carefree feeling that comes with wearing straw hats, shorts and sandals again. Lightweight cardigans are my go-to sweater style when the weather gets warmer, and this one served as the perfect layer while it was still a little chilly outside in the morning. This little guy was the cutest (but I may be a little biased because our two kitties are also orange!)
Located high in the hills above Amalfi, one of the things Ravello is well known for is its impressive terraced gardens built into the sides of the cliffs (which you can see on the right side of this photo). The hotels lining the cliffs offer some amazing views of the sea, but this is the best photo we could get since most were gated off to tourists! If you ever visit Ravello, don’t forget to take some hand-painted ceramic pottery home to remember your trip. Although we didn’t buy anything this time around, I definitely want to get a few pieces before we leave Italy next year (particularly one of the tabletops!) I hope all of you have a wonderful weekend, and thank you so much for reading!
