Today was basically perfect: I started the morning with a good workout at the gym, went to Italian language class, then hopped on the scooter with my husband for a little shopping and lunch in Centro on his break. Just when I thought the afternoon couldn’t get any better, I had a little incidente while driving home. There’s an extremely narrow metal gate I often have to pass through where I park, and I always drive through it very slowly because it makes me nervous. Well, today was the day I missed the mark and ended up simultaneously scraping our car’s rear side door and damaging part of the tire. Amazingly, until now, it hadn’t gotten any bumps or scrapes (and in Rome, that’s pretty impressive), and I can’t believe the first ones are my fault. I was in tears when I called my husband to explain what happened, but he was much calmer than me, saying it will be fine and can all be fixed. Times like this make me especially thankful for his unwavering patience and understanding–now I think it’s time for me to get more practice using my side mirrors! This sweater is one of my favorites for spring because it’s lightweight and the light color works with just about anything. I finished the look with coordinating gray accessories and my new favorite jeans (which you can get now for 25% off–linked below!)
One of my go-to tricks for styling oversized tops is to tuck the front in my waistband–it’s so much more flattering than allowing it to bag out around the midsection.Has anyone shopped the friends and family sales going on at Bloomingdale’s and ShopBop yet? I thought I was finished, but caved and bought these jeans today (I’m a sucker for denim and they were less than $70!) In case you missed my favorite picks earlier this week, you can find them here and here.
