It’s that time of year again when summer is in full force but one major retailer has us already looking ahead to fall: the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is here! It may be hard to imagine wearing boots and layers just yet, but this is the perfect opportunity to get a head start on a closet refresh for fall and to see what’s trending for the new season. This year I’m focusing on a few classic wardrobe staples I can wear now and for years to follow: a pair of designer sunglasses, a sweater coat, and suede booties. As a reminder, the sale works on a tiered system, with cardmembers having early access before the sale opens to the public. The higher your card status, the earlier you can shop. Here are the dates for this year’s sale:
2022 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Wishlist
Celine sunglasses – These Celine shades are the first pick on my wishlist this year. I’ve actually been on the hunt for a new pair of tortoiseshell frames and these are timeless perfection (and nearly half the price of a new pair in-store!)
Vince cardigan coat – A cardigan coat is the lighter layer you’ll reach for again and again from fall and into early winter (possibly all winter depending on where you live). I loved the Vince camel sweater coat similar to this one in last year’s sale and wasn’t able to snag it before it sold out. I actually prefer the collarless style on this one so it can be easily worn with scarves for extra coziness.
Halogen faux leather shorts – I’ve been wanting a pair of faux leather shorts for date nights and this chic style is under $40 during the sale! The clean, flat front makes it easy to dress up and the legs have a flattering A-line cut.
Reiss wool blend trousers – Trousers have been trending all summer and we’ll continue seeing them into fall. High-waisted styles with a wide leg have an ultra flattering, leg-lengthening effect. I love the classic camel color of this pair and plan to wear them right into winter with my camel coat for a chic monochrome look.
Levi’s Wedgie jeans – For under $100, you cannot beat a classic pair of Levi’s and the Wedgie fit is one of my favorites: high waist, straight leg and cropped length. This style looks good with any type of footwear, from heeled sandals to flat booties.
Marc Fisher booties – This sleek, minimal boot is the one I can picture myself wearing with everything from skirts to dresses or jeans. I love the quintessential classic cognac suede for fall.
