I think it’s safe to say most of us have owned Ugg boots or a similar pair during at least one time in our life. When Uggs first came on the scene, most styles were tall, bulky, and a bit unflattering. They’ve made a huge comeback this season and current popular styles like the Classic Mini and Ultra Mini are shorter and sleeker – making them much more versatile. Ditch the skinny jeans and mini skirts Ugg combos of the early 2000’s and try some of these modern ways to wear them this winter.
How to Wear Ugg Boots in 2022
Casual-Chic: Oversized Coat & Leggings
My personal favorite way to wear Ugg boots is with an oversized coat or sweater and leggings. A loose fit on top and sleek pants help to balance out the chunky proportions of the boots and give them an on-trend look. Elevate the combo by swapping regular black leggings for a faux leather or suede pair like one of these and wear a polished sweater rather than a sweatshirt underneath the coat.

On-Trend & Effortless: 90’s & Straight Leg Style Denim
Uggs can be tricky to pull off with anything other than skinny leg jeans, but it’s definitely possible. The modern way to wear them involves looser fit and straight leg style denim that gives a nod to the 90’s. Although you can wear cropped denim (as shown in the second image), I wouldn’t recommend anything that leaves space between your boot and the end of your jeans because it probably won’t be flattering, especially if you’re petite. A pair that just touches or covers the tops of your boots is much more elongating. Denim styles I’ve found that work well with shorter Uggs are AGOLDE 90’s jeans and Levi’s Wedgie or Ribcage straight jeans.

Sporty & Comfy: Sweatsuits & Athleisure
The easiest (and comfiest) way to wear Uggs is by going all-out casual with leggings and a hoodie or sweatsuit. I like to add a little more interest to my sweats by throwing on an oversized coat, knit hat and polished bag before heading out the door.
