The ‘Colorado’ bodysuit from Wolford (shop the brand here) is one that’s on heavy rotation for me during the winter months. Simply put, there is no other basic bodysuit that looks as fantastic worn solo OR layered under other pieces. The fabric is opaque and they have such a smooth, flattering fit. Fleece-lined leggings (TTS; wearing XS)

They are lined with soft fleece that feels so cozy and warm, even in the snow (yes, I’ve worn mine in it!) Ugg boots (TTS)
What other choice of footwear is better for frigid winter weather than a pair of Ugg boots? I wear mine nearly every day simply because they feel like wearing slippers. The two styles I’ve been rotating this season are the Classic Mini II and the Classic Ultra Mini. I love both for different reasons but if you need one that’s warmer, go for the Classic Mini II will cover your ankle.
Target sweatsuit (wearing S in the hoodie and XS in the joggers–these run large)
This cozy set is one I reach for frequently, especially on the coldest days. I love to give mine an elevated appearance by throwing on an oversized coat to finish the look. The quality is great, it washes well, and at $40 total for the set, you cannot go wrong.
Amazon high-waisted leggings (run large but conform to fit; wearing S-M)
I had heard great things about these basic black leggings from other influencers and decided to give them a try. Honestly, at first I was not impressed. Then as the weeks went by and I realized I was wearing them nearly every day (no joke), I decided they were actually pretty darn good. They’re totally opaque, which is very hard to come by with leggings, and have held up well in the wash (I was mine on cold and hang to dry). My only complaint is that they don’t come in a smaller size range. The smallest size is S-M and there is a lot of extra fabric. That said, they do conform to fit your body so it’s not noticeable to anyone else, and it does make them extra comfy. It’s under $30 for a 3-pack and I highly recommend if you need a good basic legging.
Cashmere turtleneck (TTS; wearing XS)
One winter staple I cannot live without is a good basic cashmere sweater, which I prefer to be more fitted for layering. I have several of this turtleneck style from Bloomingdale’s and they’re so soft and fit perfectly. For under $200 (and often on sale for less), the quality is outstanding.
Anine Bing sherpa jacket (runs oversized; wearing XS)
This sherpa jacket from one of my favorite brands, Anine Bing, made the cut for my winter staples roundup because I’ve worn it so many times. I think its versatility is what has made it a closet staple for me: I can dress it up with denim and heeled boots just as easily as throwing it on with joggers or leggings and sneakers (which I often do when I pick Lila up from daycare in the afternoon). The slightly oversized fit makes it look effortlessly chic no matter what you wear it with. This one is actually on sale now, so it’s a great time to get it! There are also lots of similar options out there like this and this that are a bit more budget-friendly.
