A well-fitting pair of jeans is always in style but there are a few key denim trends we’ll be seeing more of than others this fall: flare & wide leg, loose fit, and high rise straight.
Flare & Wide Leg
Flare jeans are nothing new in the fashion world (my mom grew up in the 70’s and will be the first to tell you that!) Current styles like this have a mid-high rise with a slim leg and flare bottom that’s a bit more subdued than their vintage cousins. If you’re looking for a jean that makes your legs look a mile long, a pair of flares is definitely your best bet.

Flares and wide leg jeans look great with cropped length tops and jackets which help balance the exaggerated bottom proportion. For the most slimming option, choose a pair in a deep dark wash that grazes the ground.

90’s Loose Fit
After years of the skinny jean reigning supreme, loose-fitting denim has taken over. Just because they’re baggier doesn’t mean a loose fit jean can’t be flattering. To complement your figure, go with a super high, fitted waist (the higher the better!) and a loose leg.

In my opinion, the 90’s mid-rise jean from AGOLDE has the best fit. Case in point: this pair I’m wearing above is hands-down the most worn from my denim collection. I like to cuff the bottoms and wear them with slim-fitting booties.

High Rise Slim Straight
Straight leg jeans have been trending for a few years now but they’ve really hit their peak this fall. Look for styles with a high rise and slim leg to wear with your sneakers, flats and ankle boots.

For the most flattering straight leg fit, choose a pair that hits right at the ankle. This pair from Pistola Denim is my new favorite (read this post for my full review of their jeans). Show off the high waist by tucking in a tee or wearing them with a bodysuit.
