During the winter season, one of my biggest concerns is finding ways to liven up my dry, dull skin. I’ve recently picked up a few new makeup products and have really been loving the soft, glowing look they give my face so I wanted to share them with you all. Keep on reading to see how I achieved the above look (and let me know what you think as I hope to do more beauty posts this year!)Without going into too much detail about my makeup routine (this post would be pretty long!), these two products are my power duo for achieving a fresh-looking base. I bought the Tula blurring face primer about a month ago and haven’t used anything else since—it has a way of beautifully evening the skin tone to prep for foundation. I’ve been using this Estée Lauder Futurist foundation exclusively for about a year now and love the smooth glow it gives my face, plus the addition of SPF 45 is a major bonus!
After using It Cosmetics undereye concealer for years, I decided to give the award-winning Tarte shape tape a try and I really love it! This 3-piece set from QVC is under $35 and includes a full size of the concealer, glow wand, and blender sponge (the concealer alone is $27 anywhere else!) I l apply the concealer under my eyes and then use the glow wand just to brighten up the inner corners and the tops of my cheekbones (it’s sheer and more of a highlighter than a concealer).
These new beauties from Laura Geller have become my secret weapons for a healthy glow—I’ll be going into detail on each one in the rest of this post.
How gorgeous is this highlighting palette? I’ll admit I’m a sucker for pretty packaging. It’s a super size compact which contains three of Laura Geller’s best-selling highlighters and is under $40! Personally, I love to swirl all three together using my blush brush and it gives the PERFECT glow to the tops of my cheekbones (it’s the highlighter I am wearing in the first photo). I will say that this is probably best-suited for light to medium skin tones since it’s pretty subtle. However, these can also be applied wet to intensify the shimmer.
Top left: Laura Geller Baked Dolce Highlighter in ‘Prosecco’ – This highlighter has the most stunning golden glow! It has a lot more pigment than the highlighting trio above. I think it’s beautiful now but will be even better combined with bronzer during summer months.
Bottom right: Laura Geller Soft Matte Baked Bronzer in ‘Fair’ – I’ve been looking for a subtle bronzer to use during winter and this one is exactly what I needed. It is described as matte but has the tiniest amount of shimmer. It’s easy to build up on the skin and I also like to use it to contour my cheeks.
If you love neutral eyeshadow, this is a beautiful palette which includes matte and shimmer shades. You can mix and match for endless eye looks, from natural to glam. I’ve basically been using this every day since I got it.Finally, I want to mention this new Fenty Beauty lip cream. The consistency is the best I’ve found in a gloss: smooth, creamy (not sticky), with more color payoff than traditional lipgloss. I bought ‘Fenty Glow’ which is a gorgeous rosy nude.
