While many fall trends come and go, ponchos continue to have staying power in the fashion world (and in my opinion, always will). Although typically seen with jeans and boots, there are actually quite a few other ways to wear ponchos in a fresh, modern fashion. Here are seven of my favorite ways to style ponchos–I would love to know which look is your favorite! And if you’re in the market for one, check out the beautiful new styles below.

1.EDGY: Faux Leather Leggings & Studded Boots
Add an edgy vibe to your poncho with faux leather leggings and a pair of badass boots like one of these studded styles (and this particular pair is very similar to the ones I’m wearing).

2. COZY: Knit Skirt & Slouchy Boots
It doesn’t get much cozier than a poncho paired with a knit skirt and slouchy boots. H&M always has a great selection of knit skirts, which is where I purchased mine.

3. SASSY: Faux Leather Mini Skirt & Knee High Boots
If you’re feeling sassy, rock your poncho with a mini skirt and tall boots. This is a fabulous choice for a fall date night!

4. COMFY: Boyfriend Jeans & Booties
Comfy meets casual with a poncho and boyfriend jeans. If you’re not feeling like heels, slip on a pair of low-key Chelsea boots.

5. WESTERN: Fringe Scarf & Cowboy Boots
Go west with a fringe scarf and cowboy boots (or a plaid scarf for even more of a western vibe).

6. CLASSIC: Skinny Jeans & Tall Boots
A poncho worn with skinny jeans and knee high boots will always be a classic fall combo. To give it a modern twist, try a pair of croc-embossed leather or animal print boots.

7. SLEEK: Skinny Jeans & Over the Knee Boots
Skinny jeans and over the knee boots balance out the voluminous shape of a poncho for a sleek, chic look.
