If you’re like me, you may have been wondering if the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale has been cancelled this year—and I’m excited to report that it’s still on! In the past, the sale has started in mid-July, but due to Covid this year, it’s been moved a month later to mid-August. I’ll start with the dates you need to know and then address basics in case you’re unfamiliar with how the sale works.
Sale Dates to Know
This year, the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale will run from Wednesday, August 19 – Sunday, August 30. However, depending on your cardholder status, you can shop the sale as early as August 4th. You can check your Nordy Club status or sign up for a card here.
What is the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale?
This sale is one of my favorites of the year for several reasons: it gets me excited for fall fashion and the markdowns are offered on brand-new items. It’s the best time to start building your fall wardrobe, especially if you’re shopping on a budget.
What has changed this year?
Typically the sale runs from mid July to the beginning of August, but this year it has been moved to mid August (8/19-8/30) due to Covid. Additionally, this year the preview catalog will be available to everyone on July 24th so you can start your wish list and be ready to check out as soon as you have sale access. Many items sell out before the sale even opens to the public, so you’ll definitely want to shop as early as possible!
What is early access?
Nordstrom cardholders can shop the anniversary sale before everyone else. Depending on your Nordy Club status, you can shop the sale as early as August 4th. To check your card status, click here.
How can I get early access?
If you have a Nordstrom card, you automatically have early access. If you don’t have a card, you can sign up here. Early access is crucial to this sale because popular items always sell out before the sale opens to the public!
Can I shop in-store or online?
You can shop in-store and online during the sale. I always recommend shopping online because the stores get pretty crazy, plus there’s a wider selection of sizes and colors available online. If you choose to shop online, shipping is always free, and you can also opt for curbside pickup if you live near a Nordstrom store.
What can I expect to find on sale?
The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale showcases brand-new items for fall at discounted prices. Although we won’t know exactly what’s on sale until July when the preview catalog is released, if you want to get an idea of what is offered you can check out this blog post from last year for a roundup of my favorite picks from the sale.
