I can hardly believe I’m about to celebrate my third Mother’s Day with Lila! Time sure has flown, but watching her grow has been such a joy. We’ve always taken photos to mark the occasion, but with this year’s Covid circumstances I wasn’t able to place a last minute online order or go out shopping for cute ‘Mommy and me’ outfits. I had to get creative with what we already had in our wardrobes and I’m pretty happy with how our coordinating looks turned out. If any of you mommas out there are experiencing the same struggle, keep on reading for how you can do the same!
How To Coordinate Last-Minute Mommy & Me Outfits Using What You Already Own
- Choose clothing in similar colors – Chances are, you already both own something like a plain white tee and blue jeans.
- Keep it simple – Don’t overthink it! If you focus on coordinating basics, you’ll probably be surprised by what you can put together. The outfits my daughter and I are wearing simply involve a tee, jeans and denim jacket.
- Try complementary patterns – You can totally mix different patterns if you keep them in the same color family, like blue gingham with blue floral print. Check out our yellow patterned outfits from last year on this post for an example.
Don’t be fooled by these seemingly perfect candid shots —there were plenty of toddler tantrums during and we had to blow bubbles constantly in order to keep her happy!Whether you’re celebrating as a momma yourself or celebrating your own momma, Happy Mother’s Day!
