Blanket scarves: the accessory trend that took the fashion world full force about six years ago! Although they may seem like a thing of the past, this post I wrote about how to style them is still my most popular to date and continues to get a lot of traffic whenever fall rolls around. Although I don’t go as crazy over them as I used to, I still like to pull mine out every now and then, because let’s face it: does a scarf that’s literally a blanket get any cozier? Before you donate all of your blanket scarves, simply think about changing the way you wear one to make it feel fresh. Instead of looping in a traditional triangle wrap, I like to drape mine over my shoulders or wrap one tail over my shoulder to give it an effortless-chic look. Another thing to consider is the color pattern: everyone seemed to have one in a red/blue/green/red pattern (myself included), but what about one like this in camel and burgundy? It’s a plaid that’s a little more subtle and so easy to wear with fall neutrals like a camel sweater. And though it sounds crazy, the one I’m wearing is only $12 (I also think the red and black plaid would be gorgeous for the holidays). What are your thoughts on blanket scarves?
