No matter how hot it still is outside, August is here and that only means one thing: fall is just around the corner! I’m rounding up some of my ‘real-life’ Instagram outfits I’ve posted on Instagram during the last month and most of them are transitional outfits you can wear from summer to fall. 
This off the shoulder top was a purchase from last summer but I did find a very similar top here. It has that perfect rusty orange color that has me dreaming of pumpkin spice, ha!

This cozy cardigan just came in the mail last week and I couldn’t resist wearing it right away, even though it was only for about an hour in the cool morning. The sleeves have the cutest pom pom detail and I am obsessed with this rich brown color. It’s totally handmade and only $75, which I personally feel is a great price for the quality. I can’t wait to wear this with dark skinny jeans and boots once it cools down.

Give me neutrals any day of the week and I’m a happy girl. This cardigan/cami/boots outfit is one I repeat often but never get bored with wearing. I actually own the same cardigan in lavender and wore it a lot this spring, so I decided to pick up this beige shade for fall. I’ve worn this floral peasant dress three times in the last week, which shows you how much I love it. This is the type of dress that is so easy to transition from warm to cool weather: for fall, I’d wear it with a cozy cardigan and western boots. I’ve also swapped the tie belt for a statement leather style to amp it up a bit. I don’t always have people stop me to compliment my outfit but when I wore this, I can’t believe how many ladies came up to tell me they loved this skirt. And I have to agree: this rusty brown color is totally drool-worthy for fall (plus it’s under $40!) I can see myself wearing it again with a chunky knit once the temps drop.

One of my favorite transitional outfits is wearing a long denim jacket over a tank dress and belting it at the waist gives it a chic look. I purchased this jacket during the Nordstrom sale and it just got restocked if you’re interested. Adding a pop of animal print also speaks to the fall season.

This is a comfy, casual outfit from a day spent shopping with my mom and Lila. My denim skirt just went on sale and I can’t recommend it enough: the high waist nips in just the right spot for a flattering fit and the classic wash makes it great for year-round wear.
