Hello from Virginia! After a loooong journey from Amman, we got back in the wee hours of last Wednesday morning and have been running full speed ever since. Between getting over jet lag, preparing to move into our new home in about a week, and heading to Florida today for a quick trip to visit family, it’s been nonstop. I have the best intentions to post here on my regular schedule, but we’ll see how it goes and I hope you’ll bear with me in the meantime! I wanted to share a few photos I’ve posted on Instagram lately and some of the outfits I’ve been putting together with the basics I packed. Most of my wardrobe is en route to the U.S. so I’ve been getting creative with mixing and matching basics like this.

In other news, I also cut my hair short since we’ve been home! Unfortunately it was very damaged from a bad experience at the hair salon I went to in Amman and it just needed to be chopped so I can start over. I haven’t had my hair short since I was a kid so it’s definitely taking some adjustment, but so far I am loving how fresh it feels. I also want to point out the new earrings I’m wearing in this photo–aren’t they cool?! I recently discovered this jewelry company based in New York and they have so many gold earrings to choose from, which is my weakness when it comes to jewelry. I settled on this fan shaped pair because they were unique but I also have these classic gold hoops on my wish list for later! The best part is that you can pick your jewelry based on your budget. The earrings I’m wearing look like gold but they’re actually made of vermeil, which is 14 karat gold-plated silver. Choosing vermeil is a great way to get the look of pure gold without the hefty price tag.

I love a good monochrome look and this gray sweater paired with cozy cashmere pants was comfy yet chic. I wore pointy toe pumps with the pants to make the outfit look a little more polished. My exact pants are old but I found another pair that’s under $25, which you can shop by clicking on the image below.

Lila and I have been wearing our denim jackets a lot lately and it’s always fun to twin together. She’s been loving all of the time outdoors here and I swear, she could run around for hours in the yard!

How gorgeous is this lavender cardigan? I just got it in the mail and don’t want to take it off. The temperature is still on the chilly side here in Virginia, so it’s nice and cozy but the soft color makes it perfect for spring layering.

This is one of my favorite outfits I’ve worn lately and I literally threw it together at the last minute. There’s something about mixing neutral colors that always looks sophisticated. Speaking of neutrals, these are my new favorite booties for spring because the taupe color goes with everything. I’ve worn them every day since they arrived. They’re also budget-friendly at under $175.
