Happy Thursday, everyone! It’s been a crazy week of shooting holiday looks and prepping blog posts before we leave for our trip to Europe next weekend. Lila’s one year birthday is also coming up next Friday so I’m planning a little celebration to have with our baby play group. I just can’t believe she’ll be one year old—where has the time gone this year? I better stop myself now or I’ll end up writing a novel!
Mixing Houndstooth Prints
Houndstooth print always screams ‘holiday’ to me, especially if it’s black and white and paired with a pop of red. I thought it’d be fun to mix two patterns for this outfit and it works for two reasons:
1) both prints are the same color
2) the patterns complement each other since they’re different sizes
Like the monochromatic gray outfit I posted the other day, this holiday look is another one that’s a cross between dressy and casual; simply take it down a notch with flat ankle boots. If you wanted to show off the turtleneck or you’re going to be indoors, you could also remove the scarf. Speaking of this scarf, it’s under $10 and very high quality for the price! It’s generously sized so you can wrap it a variety of ways, too.It looks like I’m wearing tall boots, but these are actually sock boots blending in with my tights! If you wanted them to stand out more, you could swap the opaque style for a sheer pair or one with a pretty pattern.I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and thanks so much for reading!
