When it comes to building my wardrobe, I typically only purchase items I can imagine mixing and matching with the rest of my clothes. A perfect example of a versatile piece is this plaid shirt dress. As soon as I saw it, I pictured multiple ways it could be styled, so I knew it was a smart buy (besides the obvious with a price tag under $25).
Since this dress runs a little big, I personally think it looks best with a belt. Speaking of belts, have any of you purchased something from the new Something Navy collection at Nordstrom? This croco belt is from the collection and sold out in my size before I could even purchase it on the day the brand launched. Luckily it got restocked so I was able to snag one later. While I love it, I will say that it runs small and wish I had sized up since I like wearing mine over bulky sweaters.
While this is more of a western-inspired look, you could easily make the same dress edgy by pairing it with a leather jacket and sock boots, or keep it casual with a denim jacket and sneakers.
