Props to my husband for today’s outfit since he was the one who spotted this duster cardigan on the sale rack at Mango (he knows my style well!) Ankle-grazing cardigans are one of those items a lot of women pass up because they don’t think they can pull one off, but with the right pieces, they’re totally wearable.
How to Style a Duster Cardigan
First, start with a pair of high waist jeans. Jeans with a high rise automatically give the illusion of longer legs, and those with a skinny leg will create a streamlined silhouette. These high waist jeans are so flattering and were on my blog post about Levi’s denim the other day. Bonus points when you tuck in your top: a lace camisole helps dress up this outfit, but you could easily wear another type of tee or tank.
Next, choose the proper footwear. Heels are the obvious choice if you’re petite since you don’t want to be tripping over the hem of your sweater. If it’s cool outside, try one with leather leggings and over the knee boots. These leopard print sandals are the perfect choice if you live in a climate that’s still a little too warm for boots. Despite their 4-inch heels, they’re pretty comfy since it’s a block style.
