Rooftop photos are basically mandatory when you make a trip to Dubai. It’s the best way to see the city, especially the super tall buildings. We stayed at the Ritz Carlton Financial Center, which had an amazing view of the Emirates Towers, a famous landmark duo in Dubai.
They may look the same, but the towers aren’t quite the same height: one is 1,165 feet high and takes the spot as 42nd tallest building in the world, while the other is the 100th tallest in the world at 1,014 feet. One is an office building and the other is Jumeirah Emirates Towers Hotel, and the two are connected by a retail complex.
The Best Tote for Airline Travel
This Brahmin Anywhere Weekender Tote has officially become my go-to travel bag for several reasons. It fits perfectly in the overhead bins on a plane without having to squish it to fit inside, which is a major bonus. It also has a comfy shoulder strap that stays put thanks to a wide center piece which keeps it secure (definitely a plus when you’re hustling through an airport). Besides its practicality, the textured leather just makes it straight-up gorgeous, too!
If you’re curious how spacious the inside of this tote is, I was able to pack two outfits, a toiletry bag, an extra pair of shoes and a small handbag inside. The large outer pocket on the back fit my iPad perfectly, and there’s also a small front pocket to hold your cell phone/passport.
Our Hotel Experience in Dubai
Before I close this post, I just want to give a shout out to the kind staff at the Ritz Carlton Dubai International Financial Centre (this is not sponsored, FYI). From the moment we checked in until the morning we left, every single employee went above and beyond to make sure our stay was enjoyable. For a reasonable daily fee, we took advantage of the Club membership and couldn’t have been happier with our decision. Trying to keep a routine when traveling with a newborn is difficult and this ended up making our trip SO much smoother. Meals were provided throughout the day in the Club Room so we didn’t have to leave the hotel when Lila was cranky or needed to nap. We just wheeled her upstairs and she slept while we enjoyed cocktails and delicious food—if she fussed, it was easy to run back to our room if needed. To be honest, I rarely think the food served in hotel restaurants is that great, but everything we had at the Ritz was fantastic. My husband and I agree that this is by far the best hotel experience we’ve ever had, and I would literally go back to Dubai just to stay there again!
I’m sharing this photo as an example of the amazing customer service we received. The night before we left, we mentioned to one of the hotel employees that we had a super early flight in the morning, and she had this breakfast tray sent to us at 4:00 A.M. before we left. I’ve never seen such a thoughtful gesture from a hotel chain. After such a wonderful experience, we’ll definitely be staying at Ritz Carlton hotels more often in the future!
