Classic Stripes Summer Travel

Striped Wrap Dress at Dubai’s Tolerance Bridge

April 16, 2018

Greetings from Dubai—in these photos that is! We recently went there for a three-day weekend and had such a fun time exploring the city. We also lucked out because we missed the summer heat/humidity, which can get pretty unbearable. Besides the amazing shopping malls, one of my top priorities while we were there was to visit some of the city’s most popular landmarks. We shot this look along the Dubai Canal, with the Tolerance Bridge behind me. The bridge was named to mark the International Day for Tolerance, when the UAE celebrates all of the different cultures (over 200!) living and working in their country. Unfortunately the bridge was closed for maintenance so we had to settle for using it as a backdrop, but I think this may look even more impressive!

I just can’t get enough of stripes for summer and the green pattern on this poplin dress really makes it stand out from the rest. I love the classic wrap silhouette and midi length, which looks fabulous whether you wear it with flats or heels. It was so cool and comfortable for walking around Dubai along with a wide-brim straw hat to keep the sun off my face.

Backpacks are often considered casual but the beautiful textured leather on the Mini Dartmouth from Brahmin is just polished enough to look great with dresses like this striped number. It really is the best travel handbag (and who doesn’t want to be hands-free, especially if you’re a momma!)

Stay tuned for another look from our trip and as always, thank you so much for reading!
