{ Oversized Sweater & Over-the-Knee Boots }

Happy Wednesday! Yesterday was a Catholic holiday here in Rome, so my husband and I both had the day off from work. We rode the Vespa into Centro and did a little shopping, had some gelato, and stopped at Piazza Argentina (otherwise known as Rome’s ‘Cat Sanctuary’). It’s an enclosed space built around Roman ruins in the city center where stray kitties are fed and given a safe place to live. If you’re a resident of Rome, you can even adopt: we have friends who rescued one when they lived here and he moved back to the U.S. with them! Although we’ve been past the piazza numerous times, we’ve never had much luck seeing many kitties. This time, they were everywhere though—maybe they were out and about like everyone else because the weather was so gorgeous! We are both huge cat people so whenever we come across a kitty, it’s basically guaranteed we’ll be stopping to take photos. I shared a video of them on my Instagram stories if you missed it. It’s probably obvious by now that slouchy, oversized sweaters are my jam. I snagged this one during a sale at H&M and now I think I need it in gray, too! Just make sure to order your regular size or consider sizing down because it’s VERY roomy. The length is also pretty long, so I tucked mine in the front since I wore it with OTK boots (it’s great untucked with booties or riding boots).There’s something about extra long sweater sleeves that I love being able to hide my hands in—and if it’s really cold, they can double as gloves, ha!
Skinny jeans and sleek over-the-knee boots balance out the relaxed upper portion of my outfit: if you’re petite, this is a great trick to keep generous sweaters from overwhelming your frame.
