{ Gray Area: Fringe wrap, Gray denim & Studded booties }

Good morning and I hope all of you are having a great week! Yesterday, my mom and I did some shopping together and I finished the day by having dinner with girlfriends. We only get to see each other once or twice a year now, so it was nice to catch up with everyone for a few hours. It’s strange because whenever I come home, it feels like I never left, but when I return to Rome it’s the same way. Somehow, my husband and I have managed to straddle both worlds and feel comfortable in each, despite the fact that they’re thousands of miles apart. This is probably a normal feeling for people who move overseas, but it’s all new to me since this is my first experience.Gray is my favorite color for fall and winter, and I used different shades of it to create a monochromatic layered look. This cozy wrap is ideal for early fall and I jumped at the chance to wear it during last weekend’s cool weather (see how I styled it in this post from Germany last year). The best part about a wrap is how it can be worn multiple ways, but I just kind of threw it over one shoulder here. Since I love to wear wraps, I’m thinking about writing a blog post on ways to style them—please let me know if this is something you all would be interested in reading!A little random, but I wanted to mention a few fantastic new matte lipsticks I got to try out yesterday: Bare Minerals Gen Nude liquid lipstick and Clinique Pop Matte Lip Colour. If you like a matte lip, you’ll definitely want to check them out because both formulas are non-drying and wear well for hours—I was so impressed! The color range for each is also amazing: I’m wearing the Bare Minerals one in ‘Slay’ here and it’s a beautiful dusty pink that looks good with everything.
This old country store in my hometown has been around for years, but shut down not too long ago. I love country stores, especially the random products you can find in them: I mean, you just never know when you might need a new pair of overalls, right?!
