Spending some time at the shore was a must while we were in Sicily, even though most of the beaches were rocky in the area where we stayed. Bikini photos are really not my cup of tea, but I wanted to show you all this beautiful beach tunic I found at H&M and how I wore it on my trip. If I’m not literally on the beach, I prefer to be covered up, and this lightweight embroidered poncho is a chic solution. If you’re not into beachwear, you can totally wear it as a regular top, which is what I did after leaving the beach by simply throwing a tank top over my bikini.
I didn’t bring a beach bag for our trip, but fortunately my roomy Brahmin tote was large enough to double as one, so I loaded up with sunscreen and took it along for the afternoon! The colorful embroidery on this poncho adds a touch of elegance, and I appreciate how it can be tied on the sides and at the center for more coverage. I also want to note that it’s machine-washable—I’ve run it through the laundry twice now and it still looks new.We enjoyed an amazing seafood lunch on the shore in Brucoli at a restaurant called I Rizzari. Like every other day in Sicily, I stuffed myself with wine, pasta, and dessert. My lunch was whole wheat pasta with shrimp and vegetables and lemon ‘gelo‘ for dessert—it’s pronounced like Jello and has a similar consistency, but the flavor is much more intense. We also tried a new type of moscato wine: while most are super sweet, this one was dry and a great accompaniment to our meal.Another view of the outdoor seating area at the restaurant—talk about picturesque! I couldn’t stop taking photos of the flowers.
