Today’s look may say ‘summer’, but in just a few days it will be all about shopping for fall. You may be wondering how that’s possible when new products have barely begun to arrive in stores, so in case you didn’t already know, this Thursday marks the opening day of the much-anticipated Nordstrom Anniversary Sale! The #NSale is a glorious three-week time period when customers can shop brand-new pieces and closet staples for the upcoming season at an amazing price point.
Besides this incredible sale which I look forward to each year, I’ve been a longtime Nordstrom customer for many reasons: their wide variety of product and brand selections, free shipping and returns on every purchase, and price-matching with other retailers (just to name a few). I also can’t forget to mention their amazing customer service: a few years ago, I purchased a leather jacket that had a slight flaw from them and remember being so disappointed because I loved the style and didn’t want to return it. I would have simply done an exchange, but my size was sold out, so they offered to pay the alteration bill just so I could keep the jacket—to this day it remains one of my favorites pieces, and Nordstrom is still my top shopping destination! In a nutshell, here’s how the sale works:
Who?
What?
The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale offers brand-new fall/winter items for the entire family, as well as home and beauty products, at majorly-discounted prices you won’t see again till the end of season.
When?
The sale happens once a year and lasts for about three weeks, beginning in mid-July and ending early August (this year it runs 7/14-8/7). July 14-21 is early access for cardholders and the sale opens to the public July 22-August 7.
Where?
You can shop online from home or drop by your local store! If you’re not sure about your size, no worries—shipping and returns are free, so simply order a few and return what doesn’t fit (I do this all the time since I live overseas and can’t shop in-store!)
How?
Nordstrom cardholders can shop the sale one week early using a debit or store card. If you’re like me and not into opening multiple credit cards, go with the debit option: it just links directly to your checking account and you still get all the shopping benefits!
I’ve spent the last few weeks scouring the sale preview catalog (which you can view here) and created a list below of what I believe to be the most amazing deals on designer shoes, accessories, and denim that are sure to sell out quickly. These items are currently for sale from Nordstrom, so I listed the price now and what it will be during the sale, as well as what styles you can expect to see. The photos in the scrolling product bar below the list are also clickable and will take you directly to each item–it’s just a different way of viewing them! I realize that sometimes it’s hard to think about fall weather when it’s still so hot outside, but when the first cool day arrives and you have an amazing new sweater or pair of boots to rock, I promise you’ll be glad you shopped early. Also, keep in mind this is also a great time to do your research so you can have a plan for the sale: check reviews to see what customers have suggested for sizing, etc. and prioritize your wish list.

Okay, I’m going to curb my excitement for the Nordstrom Sale for now so we can move onto today’s look (which coincidentally, I wore for sale shopping here in Rome the other weekend!) For a hot summer’s day, you can never go wrong with a breezy tank and denim shorts, but the side lace-up detail on this top makes it far from basic. To complement the vintage vibe of this lace-up tank, I carried one of my favorite bags, which used to belong to my husband’s grandmother.Wow, this was a long post, wasn’t it?! Thanks for hanging in there and I hope you found some of the information helpful! Be sure to check back here on Thursday for a roundup of the best picks from the sale, as well as what I purchased. Happy shopping!
