You never know what you may see when you wander the streets of Rome, and last weekend when we were looking for a spot to take photos, we turned the corner to catch the finale of an Italian wedding outside a Catholic church. Guests were throwing rice in the air to send off the bride and groom, while an antique car decorated with ribbon and balloons waited to whisk them off. We considered trying to sneak a few photos, but decided maybe we shouldn’t after all—then we got closer and saw a crowd of tourists snapping away, so I guess it wouldn’t have mattered. Although we’ve come across many weddings since moving here, I still love seeing Italian brides in their gowns, which are typically very formal with intricate detail. Guests are always dressed to the nines as well; it still amazes me how the women seem to easily navigate the cobblestone streets in 4 and 5 inch heels!
There’s nothing I love more than a good pair of jeans, and I wear my other crop flares from AG Jeans so much that I ordered this color as soon as it went on sale (most sizes are still in stock–link is in my outfit details!) I created a casual weekend look with a tie-front tee and my comfiest sandals. Do any of you own Birkenstocks? I want to buy some but still haven’t pulled the trigger. My husband says the ones I have on are close enough, which is probably true, but I still want to try the real thing (he’s not a huge fan of Birks!)We’re halfway through the work week—whoo hoo! Here’s hoping the rest of it flies by!
