One of the best parts about living in Rome is that there is always something new to see and discover. Even though we have been here for well over a year, sometimes it feels like we haven’t even scratched the surface. But that’s what happens when you move somewhere—eventually, day-to-day life takes over and the opportunities for exploration are few and far between. Last weekend, we stumbled across Palazzo Barberini, a place we have driven past countless times but somehow always missed. We only stopped for a quick trip around the property and a photo shoot, but definitely want to explore the museum and surrounding gardens on our next visit. If there is one pant silhouette I have been totally obsessed with this summer, it’s the wide leg crop, namely because it is so comfortable and shows off a good pair of shoes. Some petite women are intimidated by cropped wide leg pants, but the type of footwear you wear with them can make all the difference. If you’re on the shorter side like me, pairing them with pumps or wedges is flattering and will help you achieve a taller appearance. That said, I do wear mine to work with flats, too—they just don’t do much to help in the height department! I really love this striped pair from Ann Taylor: the high-quality fabric has just the right amount of stretch to help them retain their crisp shape all day (I wore these after a Vespa ride, and as you can see, there are no wrinkles!)This spacious summer tote from Brahmin is my new BBF (Best Bag Friend) that’s been going to work with me every single day since I started my job last week. I adore its incredibly soft, textured leather and the neutral hue which goes with everything. I highly recommend this style for ladies who love a large handbag because it will hold anything you need and you’ll never grow tired of the tan color. I also want to mention that unlike most slouchy bags, this one has a magnetic closure at the top, so no worries about spilling the contents.A view from the outside of Palazzo Barberini, a palace which houses many important works of Italian art (we took photos right inside the arched walkway at the bottom). The museum is open daily to the public, but we didn’t have time to take a tour last weekend. I’ll be sure to share more photos once we get a chance to linger there a bit longer!
