Happy Monday, and I hope all of you had a wonderful weekend! It was basically rainy and cool here the whole time, so we didn’t do too much adventuring besides a walk in between rain showers to check out a new gelateria in our neighborhood.I’ve been looking for a chambray off the shoulder top, and this style from SheIn was the perfect find: adjustable elastic at the shoulders (which actually stays put!), and the cutest bow tie sleeves. In regards to fit, you may want to size up if you are tall because the side slits are kind of high–it works really well for high waist pants, though. I paired mine with cropped flare denim and a saddle bag for a retro-inspired look.Allow me to introduce this new (but actually old) addition to my handbag family. As many of you already know, I am a huge fan of Brahmin handbags, so you can imagine how excited I was to find this vintage beauty (circa 1990s) while browsing Ebay a few weeks ago. The leather aged beautifully and it’s exactly the color and type of saddle bag I was looking for (at a fraction of the price!) Shopping on Ebay can quickly become addicting–I keep finding all kinds of stuff on there! After taking photos, we made our way to Gutilla, the brand new gelateria in our neighborhood which we have been patiently waiting for to open.
Each container of gelato is kept super smooth by a handle constantly rotating inside. If you want something a little more adventurous, Gutilla also offers gelato cake creations and flavor-dipped gelato pops.If you don’t feel like a cone or a cup, try one of the the sweet buns, brioche, which can be sliced open and filled with your choice of gelato. And the machine next to the cones? That’s a panna (whipped cream) maker, which I need in our kitchen, stat. After photos, it was time to enjoy my own cone of fior di latte and vanilla gelato. Although the atmosphere at Gutilla was pretty and the taste was alright, it didn’t come close to our favorite gelateria in Rome, which is Come il Latte. One thing I’ve learned from living here for over a year is that all gelaterias are not created equal–I know, I am a certified gelato snob now.
**SALE ALERT** Neiman Marcus is holding an online-only event now through tomorrow (4/26) and here’s the deal: $50 off $200, $100 off $400, or $200 off $800 qualifying purchase using code SPRING. That may not seem like a lot, but if you are looking for an investment handbag or pair of shoes, it makes a big difference! And by the way, it also works on Stuart Weitzman, which is rare to find on sale. I just ordered these wedges I’ve had my eye on for awhile. Hope you all have a great Monday!
