Hey there and I hope all of you had a wonderful Easter weekend! My friend left yesterday to head home to the U.S. and I was sad to see her go. When you live in different countries, visits with friends are few and far between, so it was such a treat to spend a week together. On Saturday, we ended her Italian vacation with a tour of the Colosseum and Roman Forum/Palatine Hill, followed by a stroll through the streets of Centro. Since it was her last day, obviously we had to indulge in the usual Italian fare: cappuccinos, gelato, pizza, pasta, and wine (yes, we had everything!) I stuck to a mix of casual basics for our walking adventure because when it comes to touring Rome, comfort is always my number one priority. Light layers were ideal for the fluctuating temperature, and since those cobblestones can be tricky to navigate, my comfiest sneakers were a no-brainer as my footwear of choice.Year after year, I always find myself reaching for a utility jacket, especially during spring and fall–it’s the ultimate form of outerwear for warm weather and the neutral olive color works with just about anything. This time, I added a white tee and chambray shirt underneath to give my look a little more visual appeal. Here are a few of the stunning views from our tour–looking at the Colosseum never gets old!
