Happy Spring! It’s hard to believe it’s finally here, but I’m not complaining. After having lived here for a full year, I’ve decided spring is my favorite season in Rome, with all the trees and flowers in bloom, people dining al fresco again, and longer, sunny days. The mood is noticeably different, too–everyone just seems happier this time of year!
While the days are definitely warmer, the spring air can still be chilly, so I’ve been relying on light layers to deal with the unpredictable weather. This lightweight cardigan is one of my favorite sweaters right now because it’s so easy to throw over a tee shirt, which is what I did last weekend for a walk in Centro. Speaking of tee shirts, this V-neck is one of the best I’ve found in years–it’s less than $20 and comes in lots of colors, so don’t hesitate (they’re selling fast!)
My friend from Virginia just arrived yesterday, so we can’t wait to get out and start exploring this afternoon. Both of us love cats, so I think one of our first stops is going to be Piazza Argentina, a cat sanctuary located in the ancient ruins of the city (after a break for gelato, of course!)
