Hi everyone! I keep thinking today is Monday because my parents are visiting and we just returned from a long weekend in Tuscany. The weather was chilly with a good bit of rain while we were there, but that certainly didn’t stop us from enjoying the Italian wine! The last time my husband and I went to Tuscany was last May for our anniversary, which is when we first visited Castello Vicchiomaggio. We fell in love with their wines, particulary the rosé, so it was first on our list of stops so we could stock up and have another tasting with my parents. Since this is a slow time of year for tourism in Tuscany, we basically had the entire winery to ourselves, and had so much fun chatting with the lady who gives tours and tastings (with a little extra wine tasting in between!)Since it was very chilly and windy outside, I threw my hair in a messy topknot and layered up for the day. Sweater coats are my favorite form of outerwear for early spring, and this one was just cozy enough with a turtleneck tunic underneath and a scarf to top it off.Funny story: while doing blog shoots, we’ll stop every now and then to take a look at the shots my husband has taken, and this time when I peeked at the camera, I immediately noticed something different: a LOT more bokeh (the creamy ‘blur’ effect you’ll notice around the subject of a photograph). My sweet husband surprised me with the 85mm camera lens I’ve been obsessing about for over a year–I’m all smiles because I was so excited! You basically can’t go wrong with any of the wines at Castello Vicchiomaggio, so we highly recommend a visit if you’re planning on a Tuscan vacation–it’s also located in the Greve di Chianti region, which is very close to Florence! Check out their site here for more information on wine, tours, and room reservations.
