Ciao from Milan Fashion Week! We took the train early this morning and hit the ground running with our first fashion show just one hour after we arrived.
Metallic, chiffon, and Lurex materials abounded at the Genny fashion show today. The Autumn/Winter collection drew inspiration from the roaring 20’s using flapper-esque dresses in shimmering silver and gold, with fringe and beaded detail. Structured pieces in graphic black and white added modern appeal.Models literally seemed to float down the runway wearing floor-length gowns that were ethereal in their silhouette, yet bold with the touch of a wide leather belt.It was difficult to get many photos during the show since the venue was very crowded, but I hope the few that we took capture the essence of this unique new collection. To read more about Genny, you can visit their website here.I went with a minimalist palette of black and gray for today’s look. Since I knew there wouldn’t be time to change before the shows, these culottes were a chic, yet comfortable choice for travel and running around the city.
After getting up at 4:00 this morning to get ready and catch the early train, it’s definitely time to get some rest for day two. Tomorrow is our busiest day, with three fashion shows and several presentations to attend. I can’t wait to share more with all of you (and there will be a lot), so stay tuned!
