Yesterday was a Catholic holiday, The Feast of the Immaculate Conception, and since obviously this is an important day in Rome, most people had the day off. December 8th also happens to be the day when many Romans decorate for the holidays, so we saw a lot of people outside hanging lights and putting up Christmas trees. We took these photos last weekend in Piazza Navona, which is well known for its Christmas markets and decorations, but unfortunately nothing was out yet when we were there. Two details that always come to mind when planning holiday outfits are plaid and red accessories, especially in the form of a festive scarf or handbag. While I know that red plaid can be worn anytime during fall and winter, I inevitably end up saving mine for the Christmas season every year.As you can see, Piazza Navona is a happening place in Rome, and will only get busier as the holiday season goes on.Before I go, I have to share the FUNNIEST video that my hubby found on YouTube today: it’s called ‘Instagram Husband’ and you can watch it here. I was cracking up, but have to admit that some parts are terribly true–any other social media gals out there agree?!
