Greetings from Rome! After about 15 hours of travel time, we finally got back yesterday evening. Going home for the first time after having been away for awhile is a rather surreal feeling: I went back to doing all of the usual things I did when we lived there and it felt like I had never left, even though we have been in Italy for almost nine months. It was definitely sad to leave home since we don’t know when we will be able to visit again, but it made me so happy to open the apartment door again and find two little kitty faces peeking out–judging by how much they’ve been following us everywhere, it’s safe to say we have definitely been missed!I made a stop at Kohls while we were home and was pleasantly surprised to find a large selection of blanket scarves there, including this colorblock style. It’s so soft and snuggly, but the best part (besides the fact that it’s less than $20) is that each scarf is shaped in a way that makes it super simple to achieve a nonchalant-chic tie just by wrapping it around a few times. It even comes with a little tag showing other ways it can be worn in case you happen to run out of ideas. I love a good denim-on-denim outfit, and wearing a scarf is the perfect way to break things up and add a bit of color. The alarm didn’t go off this morning, so we accidentally overslept and have been fighting a little bit of jet lag today. Fortunately, it usually doesn’t take long for my body clock to adjust again. Even so, I’m about to go curl up in my chair and continue reading the book I started on our plane ride yesterday before an early bedtime tonight!
