After spending three days in Milan for fashion week, we returned to Rome last Friday for a private event at the Louis Vuitton flagship store, which showcased the Autumn/Winter 2015 collection with a mini runway show. Since I always like to dress a little more elegantly for evening affairs, I had an excuse to wear this lacey black number I purchased from HOSS Intropia a few months ago. (At the end of this post, I’ll share all of the looks from the show, so keep scrolling!)
Take a guess at what sold me on this dress: if you think it was the bow detail, you’re absolutely right! I just love how something simple and beautiful like a bow can combine with a cutout back to make a dress that is sweetly seductive. To define my waistline and give a little edge to the dainty lace fabric, I added a leather wrap belt around my dress. Wrap belts can be tied many different ways, and I really like the unique style my husband came up with (he’s definitely more creative than me for this!)Outfit Details

A common theme when people view a runway fashion show is to appreciate the dreamy clothing, yet question how it could be worn in real life. Louis Vuitton’s purpose for hosting this fashion show was to give customers ideas for how to combine pieces from their Autumn/Winter ready-to-wear collection for everyday looks. This ruffled zip skirt was one of my favorites because it is elegant, yet simple to wear –with a black turtleneck, strappy heels, and mini bag, it’s a lovely choice for a dinner date that isn’t over the top. It’s all about the details for fall and winter! The chain belt has made a comeback and was splashed all over the current collection for Louis Vuitton. This luxe style, available in shiny gold, silver, or a mix of both, adds a touch of polish to any dress or top, and the adjustable feature makes it a perfect fit for any piece.Leather leggings are a staple for any fall/winter wardrobe, and I would also definitely wear these with over the knee boots!Leather leggings are featured again, and this time with a gorgeous fur vest. I’m a fan of cozy outfits, so this was definitely my favorite look from the show.A leather jacket is a must, and looks chic when casually thrown over a dress. I’m obsessed with these gray suede booties–they would also look fabulous with the leather leggings! It never hurts to show a little sparkle now and then, and I love how this shimmery top brings out the silver detail of the pants. This would be a gorgeous outfit for a holiday party! In my opinion, you can never have enough leather, and the clean design of this pencil skirt gives it classic appeal. A tee shirt, chain belt, and snakeskin pumps make it look a little edgier, or could even be taken in an elegant direction with a turtleneck and fur jacket/vest. This floor-grazing gown was probably the most formal look of the evening, but the addition of a leather jacket could make it more casual. These are just a few examples of how to put together stylish outfits from Louis Vuitton’s collection, and the best part is that all of them can be mixed and matched for additional looks. Not only was it a treat to watch this smaller-scale version of their runway show, but now I have also been inspired to wear pieces I already own in different ways this season.
