Hi everyone, and happy Monday! I feel like it’s been a really long time since I’ve posted, so I’m glad to be back on schedule. From taking photos to attending fashion events and presentations, we were on the go nonstop for the three days we spent at Milan Fashion Week, and as a result I have so much to share with all of you. It’s always been a dream of mine to attend fashion week and I feel very fortunate for the experience. It was exciting, crazy, and sometimes confusing, but now I feel much better prepared for future fashion weeks! Over the next week or so, I’ll be sharing what I wore as well as some previews of designer collections for SS16 (believe it or not, it’s already time to think spring and summer in the fashion world!)Despite checking the weather forecast incessantly up until we departed for our trip, I was not prepared for the torrential rain and wind which accompanied the opening day of fashion week–I’m talking hurricane-level weather! Thankfully, I came prepared with an umbrella and several coats, but honestly, I would have been cozier in a fur vest or cape with the 45 degree (Fahrenheit) wind chill.Although these nude pumps were my first choice for this look, I actually ended up in my Stan Smiths for most of the day to prevent them from getting totally ruined (and also so I wouldn’t break an ankle on slippery sidewalks!)I love how adding a coat can take a simple outfit to another level, and leopard print was the perfect way to kick my monochromatic look up a notch. My latest obsession is the fur puff accessory and I loved this one I found at Michael Kors so much that I ended up purchasing it in four colors! At first they may seem silly (that was my initial impression), but I like how attaching them to my handbags changes their look while also lending a glamorous touch.
We ended the first day with a party hosted by Marie Claire Italia magazine to celebrate women in the fashion industry.
After the rain finally stopped, we were able to leisurely walk home and appreciate the sight of the most famous area in Milan: Piazza Duomo. It really is an impressive structure, not to mention incredibly beautiful, and I couldn’t imagine a better ending to our first day.
