Hey guys! I’m currently sitting on the train to Milan as I type this post–actually, this is our first train ride since moving to Italy and I have to say, I like it! Train travel is pretty inexpensive in Europe, plus it’s fast and convenient: our trip from Rome to Milan will take just over three hours and would be more than double that time in the car. We’re hoping to arrive in time for a little bit of VOGUE Fashion’s Night Out: an event in which many stores leave their doors open late for customers to shop, preview new collections, and sip cocktails–the perfect way to kick off fashion week if you ask me!Tomorrow is the first official day of Autumn (finally!) and for me, plaid always signals cooler weather. This shirtdress is perfect now with bare legs and booties, and once the temperature drops, I’ll pair it with a leather jacket and scarf to make it more cozy.I love how an oversized floppy hat adds a touch of glam to any outfit–I have this one in three colors because I love it so much (H&M is great for hats!)I finally got to break in my new boots and am happy to report the heel was comfortable for hours of wear. The charcoal color coordinates with just about any fall ensemble and the stud detail, which is what initially caught my eye, gives them a little more edge than the typical western boot.I can’t wait to share lots of moments from fashion week with all of you, but will probably be updating Instagram more often than the blog while we are gone, so don’t forget to follow along with me @meagansmoda!
