Hey guys–I hope your week has gotten off to a great start! Just when I thought the days were going to stay cool, another heatwave arrived this week. Ugh! Thankfully it only looks to be hanging around for a few more days, but until then I am going to ignore it while I drink my pumpkin spice coffee and burn a fall candle (I just got a bunch in the mail today!) This in-between time of year can drive anyone crazy with temperatures fluctuating daily, but I try to use it as an opportunity to wear my light layers, like this long trench vest, before warmer outerwear is required.Long vests have been popping up everywhere lately (especially at fashion week) and head-to-toe denim is also popular, so I was inspired to wear all three for this outfit over the weekend! I’m sure I have said it before, but peep-toe booties are the perfect transitional footwear from summer to fall. I like how this pair complements the edginess of my distressed jeans.I consider leopard a neutral, so I am definitely happy to see its presence remaining in fall/winter fashion again this year. The neutral color of this trench style (I removed the belt) makes it effortless for pairing with other pieces in my wardrobe and the lightweight fabric makes it suitable for spring, summer, and fall. Long vests also look great with shorts or dresses for a totally different, yet equally stylish look.
