There’s something about maxi dresses that I’ve always found to be romantic for summer evenings, especially at the beach, and I wore this one to dinner with my husband while we were in Naples.
Although it may appear that I’m taking a risk by standing in the street for photos, this portion of the road on the Lungomare is actually only used by pedestrians and bikers–the only vehicles you’ll see are taxis, which are allowed to drop people off at the hotels on the other side. This area along the water was pedestrianized for America’s Cup in 2012, and the mayor of Naples decided to keep it car-free ever since. It’s the center in Naples for waterfront restaurants, running, and biking, as well as a popular spot for wedding photography–we saw three different bridal parties taking photos in the handful of times we happened to be there. One of the best things about a printed dress is that it doesn’t require much to make it stand out: lace-up sandals and a basketweave bag were the only accessories I needed.
My favorite part of this maxi dress is the side slit that allows my sandals to play peekaboo when the breeze blows. What is your favorite look for summertime evenings?
