Happy Monday, everyone, and I hope all of you had a wonderful weekend! While Americans celebrated the Fourth of July, Italians geared up here in Rome for the kickoff of Saldi, a twice-yearly sale that goes on for about a month (January & July) where nearly all merchants mark down the current season’s merchandise. Unlike America, where there are constantly sales going on, in Italy, this is basically the only time you’ll be able to purchase items at a lower price. The general discount you’ll see posted in stores is ‘fino al 50‘ (up to 50% off), but as the end of sale gets closer, discounts can drop even lower–of course, die hard shoppers like myself know you have to get out there on the first day for the best selection! Most designer stores don’t participate in Saldi, but I did find select merchandise on sale at Prada, Stuart Weitzman, Escada, and Max Mara. I wasn’t the only one who had a successful shopping day, either–my hubby found a few more of his favorite dress shirts on sale as well! For serious shopping days, I always choose no-fuss pieces that are easy to get in and out of in a fitting room, like this button-down shirt and cutoff shorts. Chambray and white is one of my favorite summertime combinations, and I love the casual appeal of this look when paired with flat sandals. So do I!
With this outfit, comfort was key for hopping on and off the scooter while juggling all of my purchases–we definitely tested its shopping bag capacity this weekend! At 50% off their original price, these beautiful babies were my best Saldi find of the weekend, and I absolutely cannot wait to wear them!
