Crew silk bomber jacket, how to wear olive jacketI can’t get enough of these high-waist lace shorts because they’re just so easy to pair with practically anything, from a tee-shirt to a crop top, or with a jacket like this luxe bomber style. Its olive green color breaks up the neutral palette of my outfit while adding textural contrast to the lace shorts. The silky material makes it a natural for dressier looks, or even something more casual like destructed denim, a white tee, and sneakers for a sporty feel.

Reading fashion magazines is one of my favorite things to do in my down time, and although I can still get my fix in the mail, ever since we moved overseas, it’s been a bummer because sometimes ‘new’ issues can be up to a month late when I finally receive them in Italy. A perfect example would be when I just happened to receive the new July issue of InStyle (on time), yet still haven’t received the previous issue for June, and late magazines tend to show up as soon as I call and ask for a replacement issue. However, because of this delay and my need for the latest fashion news, I recently re-discovered my love for the Newsstand app on my iPad, which allows me to download (for free) any issue of the magazines to which I subscribe–no more waiting for weeks on end! It’s also great for travel because it consolidates all of your favorite issues in one place, making it a lot easier than lugging all of them around. Don’t get me wrong–the tangible paper form is still my favorite–but this is a quick fix when you’re on the go or if you happen to be in a living situation similar to mine. In addition to fashion magazines, I also love to read fiction, and although I don’t have nearly as much time as I’d like to, I think I’m going to start Girl on the Train. Does anyone have good summer book recommendations? I’m a little out of touch here since I don’t have access to a library anymore, so I’d love to hear what you’ve read lately!
