An all-black outfit is perennially chic, and my go-to choice for any occasion when I’m not sure what to wear, but know that I want to look sophisticated. I found this long jacket at Motivi, an Italian store I’ve discovered since moving to Rome (it reminds me a little bit of the New York & Company brand in the states). I love how easy it is to throw a black jacket on over a tank or tee to instantly up the style factor, and this longer blazer works with everything from skinny jeans to high-rise shorts. I belted it here to create more shape and add another gold accent to my outfit, while leopard sandals and a bold red lip lend a little interest to complete this monochromatic look.
I wore this outfit for what was supposed to be an evening featuring a Dior makeup tutorial, but I misread the time on the invitation and showed up an hour late, just when it was ending–oops! I still get tripped up sometimes by the 24 hour clock used here, and I learned that I need to double-triple-check everything so something like this doesn’t happen again. The evening didn’t turn out so bad, though: we had time to take photos, then go cruising on the Vespa and make a stop at our favorite gelateria–two scoops in a cone filled with melted chocolate and topped with panna makes everything better! Have a great weekend and thanks so much for reading!
