A classic trench is one piece I strongly feel that every woman should have in her wardrobe; not only does it provide light warmth during spring and fall and protection from rain, but it also instantly adds a chic touch to any look. I could be wearing a ratty T-shirt underneath, but as long as my coat is belted, I look put together! Topped off with a scarf, this is a go-to look that’s effortlessly stylish for those days when you’re short on time or unsure about what the weather will bring.

Speaking of dinner, we ate at M’Addubai, an authentic Sicilian ristorante near the Bologna metro station that has quickly become one of our favorite spots. I love how when we dine out in Rome, we almost always see the same servers, and even if we only ate there once before they usually remember waiting on us, so it gives us the sense of ‘knowing’ people even though we are still new to the city. This time, we let our waiter choose our dishes for us, which was actually pretty fun. We started with shrimp and lightly fried calamari, moved on to grilled tuna steak for our main plate, and rounded out the meal with the most delicious cannoli and chocolate granita I’ve ever tasted (all made in house). It’s close to dinner time here and I’m getting hungry again looking at the photos of our food! We’re always looking for new restaurants in Rome, so if you’ve traveled here before and have some recommendations then let me know! To my readers in the States, I hope you all have a safe and happy Memorial day weekend, and take a moment to remember those who sacrificed their lives to protect our freedom.
