Sometimes photo shoot locations and outfits can’t be planned, and in this instance they both worked out pretty well in the end. We were heading to a friend’s home one morning and I was rushing around as usual, but this time I also hadn’t planned an outfit in advance. I threw this look together and ended up liking the results, so we grabbed the camera and decided to stop for photos on the way. We didn’t really know of a good spot on our route, and then we happened to see this pretty mini piazza complete with fountain and flowers–violà! You also may be wondering about the photo of the little pooch at the end. This little guy snuck up behind me as we were shooting and my husband, ever the joker, started taking photos of him instead of me. I didn’t realize it until I was scrolling through the photos while putting together this post and they made me giggle–I can’t get over the little poof at the end of his tail!
Even though my look was unplanned, I think I subconsciously followed this basic formula for easy style that works for almost any occasion: a blazer, tee, and denim. A scarf and a statement bag are great for adding polish and changing things up for different looks. I love the contrast of navy blue against pale pink, so I added this printed scarf for a pop of color and a little pattern mixing with the stripes. Gray boyfriend jeans gave the outfit a casual touch and mixed in well with the other colors of the outfit.
